Mark F. Flanagan received the B.E. and Ph. D. degrees in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from University College Dublin, Ireland, in 1998 and 2005 respectively. Dr. Flanagan is currently a Senior Lecturer with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at University College Dublin. Prior to this he held research fellowships at the University of Zurich, the University of Bologna and the University of Edinburgh, as well as the Claude Shannon Institute for Discrete Mathematics, Coding and Cryptography, Dublin. His research interests include turbo and LDPC code design and analysis, adaptive algorithms, coding and modulation for wireless communications, network coding, and discrete mathematics. He is a reviewer for many leading international journals, and is a Technical Programme Committee Member for several high-profile international conferences, including the two flagship conferences of the IEEE Communications Society (ICC and GLOBECOM). He has given invited presentations at venues including TU Vienna, EPFL Lausanne, the University of Zurich, and the Joint Mathematics Meetings of the American Mathematical Society. Dr. Flanagan is currently serving as an Editor for the journal IEEE Communications Letters. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
