BIO

Ravi Reddy Manumachu is an assistant professor in the School of Computer Science at University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland. He received his B.Tech from I.I.T, Madras, in 1997 and PhD from UCD in Computer Science (high-performance heterogeneous computing) in 2005. His main research interests include high-performance heterogeneous computing and energy-efficient computing.

Ravi's research focuses on developing innovative models, algorithms, and tools for performance and energy optimization of applications on modern extreme-scale and highly heterogeneous computing platforms such as clouds, grids and supercomputers. Ravi is the author of functional performance and energy models of computation, a theory of energy predictive models of computing, energy-proportionality analysis of modern server processors, accurate and reliable linear energy predictive models, model-based methods and data partitioning algorithms for bi-objective optimization for performance and energy on heterogeneous computing platforms, Heterogeneous MPI, an extension of Message-Passing Interface (MPI) for heterogeneous clusters, and Heterogeneous ScaLAPACK, a linear algebra package for heterogeneous clusters. He has published extensively in top parallel and distributed computing and energy science journals and conferences.

Ravi serves as the director of the M.Sc. programme in Computer Science by Negotiated Learning and postdoctoral coordinator in the School of Computer Science. He is also a member of my School’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) committee, where he works on developing and implementing action plans for the ATHENA SWAN initiative.

Ravi has 11+ years of industrial experience (IONA Technologies, Ansys, Siemens Research) in distributed middleware, high-performance web services, parallel computational fluid dynamics, and IBM mainframe processing.
