BIO

I am Rui Teixeira, an assistant professor in UCD interested in the areas of Uncertainty Quantification, Safety and Risk; with application to critical infrastructures.

I currently lead UCD's Centre for Critical Infrastructure Research - CCIR (https://cms.ucd.ie/ci/), and I am looking for active researchers in this topic that may be interested in engaging with the CCIR.

I am interested in the development of safe and reliable civil engineering systems that have optimal performance in all their phases of operation. Most of my work has been applied to civil engineering structures, where I have worked on reliability and safety with focus on standardization.

My main topics of research interest are:

- Development of new techniques for component and system reliability analysis;

- Multi-fidelity modelling of engineering systems as a support to decision-schemes;

- Resilience of Infrastructure systems;

- Artificial intelligence and machine learning methods for risk and safety applications;

- Probabilistic evaluation of systems and their uncertain behavior;
