TEACHING ACTIVITIES
My philosophy for teaching and learning is underpinned by the importance of creating engaging learning environments that use real-world problem solving, reflective practice and career developmental learning. I believe that teaching excellence stems from the creation of a solid learning environment that stimulates students to have confidence in their teacher’s ability to have a command of the field they are learning about and that the learning activities should be authentic and focused on skill development that will ensure they are work ready.
I am an early adopter of technology but not simply for the sake of it, only after careful consideration of the benefits that it could bring to an educational setting and the student learning experience. My approach to online teaching and the use of innovative technology enables me to deliver flexible and responsive learning environments. This innovative approach has seen Sharleen win Teaching Excellence Awards in Australia and Ireland as well as being invited to present her work at international teaching and learning conferences.
