RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. O’Rourke’s research focuses on soil carbon and sustainable soil management practices. Her work includes assessment of soil carbon sequestration at various scales by employing spectral measurement and modelling to enable soil core imaging to map carbon, soil geochemistry and soil physical attributes at high resolution at the soil profile scale, proximal soil sensing at field scale and soil carbon stock assessment at national scale. She is also working on the inclusion of soil carbon in decision support tools and life cycle analysis.
