BIO
The focus of my research is on emotion in organisations and in particular how unconscious dynamics influence and inform organisational structure and behaviour. I earned my PhD at the University of Bath where my doctoral research investigated disappointment (frequently assumed to be a 'negative' emotion) and explored how it might be re-imagined as a catalyst for organisational learning and creativity. I received my MSc from the University of Sunderland where I studied systemic organisation and management.
Prior to joining UCD I ran my own organisational consultancy practice for over 17 years. I consulted to and coached senior executives in over 100 organisations cross the public, private and cultural sectors in Ireland, England and the USA. Prior to my consulting career I held senior management positions in the cultural sector in Ireland and England.
