I earned my PhD at the University of Bath where my doctoral research investigated disappointment (frequently assumed to be a 'negative' emotion) and explored how it might be re-imagined as a catalyst for organisational learning and creativity. I received my MSc from the University of Sunderland where I studied systemic organisation and management. The focus of my research is on emotion in organisations and in particular how unconscious dynamics influence and inform organisational structure and behaviour. Prior to joining UCD I ran my own organisational consultancy practice for over 17 years. I consulted to and coached senior executives in over 100 organisations cross the public, private and cultural sectors in Ireland, England and the USA. Prior to my consulting career I held senior management positions in the cultural sector in Ireland and England.
