RESEARCH INTERESTS

General Research Interests: Archival traditions in Ireland; Religious Archiving; Archival Description; Medieval and early modern diplomatics & palaeography; Early Insular Gospel Books and commentary manuscripts Current Research Projects: I have two different research projects currently underway. In the field of archivistics I am interested in exploring the history of religious archiving in Ireland and how the records of religious orders are used in contemporary Irish society. My second research project concerns the reception of Gospel Book prefatory texts in the Insular and Carolingian worlds. I am working specifically the reception of the Eusebian canon tables and the extent to which they played a role in the early medieval understanding of the gospel text.
