Assoc ProfessorJennifer Keenahan

I am an Associate Professor in the UCD School of Civil Engineering and Vice-Principal for Teaching and Learning in the College of Engineering and Architecture. In this College-wide role, I provide academic leadership for teaching, learning and the student experience across more than 2,750 students, 80 programmes and 470 modules.

I am particularly interested in inclusive curriculum and assessment, work-integrated learning, academic advising, student partnership and the responsible use of generative AI in higher education. I currently serve as Academic Lead for Curriculum Integration, Student and Staff Support and Training within UCD’s University-wide Strategic Change Programme for Work-Integrated Learning, supporting meaningful connections between students’ academic learning, professional practice and future careers.

My research interests include wind engineering, bridge aerodynamics, computational fluid dynamics and the resilience of civil infrastructure. I lead a multidisciplinary research team, work closely with industry and public-sector partners, and contribute to the development of engineering standards.
