RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests lie mainly in the literature and culture of seventeenth century Ireland, especially women's life writing and the memory cultures of the 1641 rebellion. My edition of The Letters of the First Duchess of Ormonde has recently been published by the Renaissance English Text Society/Iter Press (2023), and with Julie Eckerle I co-edited Women's Life Writing and Early Modern Ireland for the University of Nebraska Press (2019). I have recently begun work on a monograph, Memory, Trauma and the 1641 Depositions, and I've published articles on this topic in Memory Studies and Irish University Review. The Body in Pain in Irish Culture , co-edited with Fionnuala Dillane and Emilie Pine, was published at the end of 2016 by Palgrave Macmillan.
