RESEARCH INTERESTS
My team's research uses metagenomic, metatranscriptomic and metabolomic approaches to explore cross-kingdom interactions with a focus on plant, environmental and mammalian biology.
Our plant and environmental research takes advantage of natural variation to understand fundamental responses and multiomic interactions related to stress, with applications including: phytoremediation, sustainable agriculture, bioenergy, renewable phytochemistry and astrobotany.
In addition to plant and environmental science, we also collaborate on experimental design and multiomic data interpretation within human clinical microbiome research and within the space sciences as part of the NASA GeneLab Analysis Working Groups for Microbes and for Multiomics/Systems Biology, as well as the ESA Omics Topical Team.
We're interested in multiomic interactions across all biological systems so do email to organise a quick chat if there is any interest in our work or if you think we might help inform your own research interests.
