RESEARCH INTERESTS

My primary areas of research are postcolonial literature and environmental criticism, world-systems and world-ecology approaches to world literature, neoliberalism, and speculative genre fiction, and Marxist literary criticism. I have been a co-investigator with Treasa De Loughry on a "Cultural Imaginaries of Just Transition" grant, and am currently an advisory member of the Challenging Precarity network. In the past, I held a UCD Horizon Scanning Grant for a project on "Food, Energy and Climate: Cultural Representations." . I was a contributing member of the Global Frontiers: Ecologies, Commodities, Labour and the Arts research network organized by Michael Niblett (Warwick) and Chris Campbell (Exeter), a network participant in " Crime and its Representation in the Anglophone Caribbean,' an international research network funded by the British Academy (2016-2019), as well as in the AHRC network "Dons, yardies, and posses: representations of Jamaican organised crime," both of which are led by Lucy Evans (Leicester) as Principal Investigator. In the past, I was a named participant and collaborator in the international research network co-funded by the AHRC-NWO entitled "The Cultural Politics of Catastrophe: (Post)colonial Representations of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Disasters, 1800-2012," of which Anthony Carrigan was Principal Investigator.
