RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research is interdisciplinary in nature, bringing together social policy, economics and public policy. Primarily I seek to explore the context and choices societies face, and make, regarding income levels and income distribution. Specifically, as my research has evolved, this has involved a growing focus on the relationship between taxation (structures, design, reforms) and social policy choices and outcomes.
My research interests and publications are in the areas of: income distribution and poverty, taxation and social policy, fiscal welfare, low-pay, pensions, economic evaluation and public policy.
